Job Overview

The Operational Field Engineer T1 is a site-based technical support role within the Harsco Environmental division. This position is ideal for candidates with strong foundational IT skills who are looking to grow their experience in a hands-on environment. The role focuses on supporting core IT infrastructure across sites in the US and Canada, with exposure to Operational Technology (OT).

Primary Responsibilities and Activities

  • Respond to incidents and service requests, resolving standard issues and escalating when needed.
  • Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware/software including desktops, servers, network equipment, and telephony.
  • Assist with onboarding tasks such as provisioning IT hardware, software, and access for new employees.
  • Maintain asset records for IT hardware/software in line with lifecycle and security standards.
  • Follow Change and compliance business processes
  • Contribute to project planning and execution under guidance.
  • Monitor system performance and assist with routine troubleshooting.
  • Maintain documentation including support logs and configuration records.
  • Operate within standardized IT environments following enterprise procedures.
  • Provide limited support for OT systems if required, but prior OT experience is not essential.

Qualifications



Education

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience

  • 2 years of experience in IT support or technical service roles.
  • Exposure to field environments or remote site support

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office, Server environments, and networking basics (IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication and ability to follow structured processes.
  • Familiarity with IT service management tools is a plus.
