About the Role Our staffing firm is partnering with a large commercial insurance brokerage and risk advisory organization to identify a Temporary Policy Review Specialist for a fully remote opportunity. The client operates at significant scale within commercial insurance and risk management, with a broad national presence and a focus on complex coverage solutions.
This role is ideal for an experienced commercial lines insurance professional with strong policy review expertise, particularly in public entity business, large or layered accounts, and complex coverage structures. The position will support a high-volume backlog of policy reviews and ongoing renewal activity, especially during a busy renewal season. This is a long-term temporary assignment expected to last at least 6 months, with the potential to extend longer based on business needs.
Job Description The Temporary Policy Review Specialist will perform detailed secondary quality reviews of commercial insurance policies to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with agency standards. This role goes beyond basic policy checks and focuses on endorsements, coverage details, policy nuances, stipulations, deductibles, and other critical components of large, complex commercial accounts.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct thorough secondary reviews of commercial insurance policies for accuracy, completeness, and quality
- Review policy documents and related materials attached to assigned policy activity tasks in EPIC
- Identify discrepancies, missing information, documentation errors, and potential coverage issues
- Communicate corrections or concerns clearly to the servicing team
- Verify endorsements, limits, deductibles, coverages, stipulations, and other policy-specific details
- Support review work for complex accounts such as schools, universities, municipalities, and other public entities
- Help manage a large volume of policy review work, including backlog files and current renewal business
- Apply established review procedures and quality control standards while maintaining strong accuracy and turnaround time
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment where individual policies may range from highly detailed single-file reviews to larger weekly review volumes
This position will involve working with large premiums, high values, layered coverages, and significant deductibles, so a strong understanding of complex commercial insurance structure is important.
Qualifications Required Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in commercial lines insurance, policy review, policy servicing, underwriting support, or a similar coverage-focused role
- Hands-on experience reviewing complex commercial insurance policies

- Large or high-deductible programs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to accurately review large, complex policy files
- Experience identifying coverage discrepancies, documentation issues, and endorsement-related errors
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
- Proficiency using EPIC
- Professional communication skills and comfort working within structured review workflows
Preferred Qualifications: - Property & Casualty insurance license in any state
- Broader commercial coverage expertise in areas such as:
- Boiler & Machinery
- Directors & Officers
- Employment Practices Liability
- Employee Dishonesty / Fidelity / Crime
- Executive Liability
- Excess & Surplus Lines
- Fiduciary Liability
- Earthquake
- Experience supporting large renewal periods or high-volume policy review environments
- Familiarity with MS Outlook and Zoom
