Job Summary:

The Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and automation within an Azure environment. This role involves managing middleware platforms like WebLogic and WebSphere, supporting data integration tools such as Informatica, and ensuring system stability through performance tuning, backup, and disaster recovery strategies. The engineer will lead technical reviews, develop automation scripts, support integration and data migration, and provide ongoing system support and knowledge transfer to staff.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver monthly performance status reports detailing progress and accomplishments.
• Review and revise technical designs to align with project requirements.
• Develop automation scripts and implement solutions across test and production environments.
• Document technical processes and conduct knowledge transfer sessions with ministry staff.
• Support integration and data migration efforts during development phases.
• Provide support during quality assurance and stabilization phases post go-live.
• Monitor and troubleshoot application and middleware systems on a 24/7 basis.
• Lead incident and change management activities, including performance analysis and emergency problem resolution.
• Coordinate and collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 10 years experience with WebLogic V12, WebSphere V9, and Informatica V10 including configuration, customization, upgrading, and patching.
• Minimum 10 years experience in systems, data communications, and telecommunication technologies, including RedHat Enterprise Linux V7+, UNIX Solaris V10, and Mainframe IMS Connect.
• Minimum 5 years experience with DevOps toolsets in Azure Cloud such as Docker, Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Azure DevOps Pipelines, and OpenShift.
• Proficient in git version control with branching, merging strategies (e.g., git-flow), pull requests, and GitOps practices.
• Experience designing and implementing infrastructure as code and immutable infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and Packer.
• Strong knowledge of application performance tuning, storage/capacity management, database migration/upgrades, and backup/disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience configuring clustering, load balancers, and firewalls within Azure cloud environments.
• Familiarity with J2EE, Java, Node.js, Azure Functions, Serverless architectures, Pub/Sub event-driven systems, and Azure Application Gateway.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise business and infrastructure projects with ITIL-aligned system monitoring and incident management.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with Informatica PowerCenter tools including Designer, Workflow Manager, and Workflow.
• Mid-tier refresh initiatives experience using Docker, Ansible, Packer, and Terraform in Azure cloud environments.
• Experience in public sector environments, particularly with transportation safety architecture, applications, and databases.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience in presentations and multi-disciplinary team collaboration.
• Leadership experience coordinating technical staff and stakeholders.

Special Considerations:

• Availability to provide support on a 24/7 basis including emergency problem resolution.
• Onsite presence required for key project phases and support activities.
• Adherence to strict documentation and knowledge transfer protocols.

Scheduling:

• Standard project timeline schedules with monthly deliverables and reviews.
• Support coverage on a 24/7/365 basis for pre-production and production environments.
• Flexible scheduling to accommodate emergency and stabilization support post go-live.
