Position : Database Administrator 2 (DBA)

Location : Austin, TX Hybrid (2 days onsite, 3 days remote)

Duration : 07/01/2026 08/31/2026 (Potential Extensions)

Job Summary

The client is seeking experienced Database Administrator 2 professionals to support the installation, maintenance, optimization, security, and administration of enterprise database environments. The selected candidates will be responsible for database design, performance tuning, data warehouse support, disaster recovery, security implementation, and database migration activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain database software and upgrades.
• Support database migrations and validate functionality post-migration.
• Design, modify, and maintain database structures and schemas.
• Perform logical and physical data modeling.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor database performance and execute performance tuning initiatives.
• Establish database security controls and manage user access.
• Develop and maintain data dictionaries and database documentation.
• Support data warehouse development, maintenance, and optimization.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into database solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend database technologies and software packages.
• Ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders on reporting and analytics initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Database Management Systems (DBMS).
• 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Data Mart development.
• Strong experience with:
  • Data Modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Normalized Models)
  • SQL and Database Design
  • ETL Tools (Informatica, IBM DataStage, or similar)
  • Business Objects and Data Dictionary development
  • Reporting and Analytics Platforms
  • Performance Monitoring and Benchmarking
• Experience with enterprise databases such as:
  • Oracle
  • SQL Server
  • Teradata
  • Similar enterprise database platforms
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Database Administration experience.
• SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) report development.
• M204 database experience.
