Job Description

This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage electrical systems in a construction and industrial environment. The position welcomes both experienced technicians and motivated individuals with little to no experience who are eager to learn, take initiative, and work in a physically demanding setting. You will work with conduits, wiring, and low voltage systems while adhering to strict safety and site access requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Install, run, and secure low voltage wiring according to project specifications and blueprints.
  • Bend and install conduit to route and protect electrical and low voltage cables.
  • Make electrical and low voltage connections safely and accurately.
  • Terminate wires and components, ensuring clean, organized, and code-compliant installations.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues with low voltage systems and circuits.
  • Use basic hand tools and power tools to perform construction and electrical tasks.
  • Support installation and construction activities in outdoor and indoor environments, including working at heights.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment at all times on site.
  • Arrive on time to the designated parking lot to take the shuttle and report promptly to the work area.
  • Work mandatory overtime, including some Saturdays and Sundays, as project needs require.
  • Accept direction and feedback from supervisors and experienced technicians and apply it to daily work.
  • Take initiative by volunteering for tasks, staying late when needed, and contributing to team productivity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as a low voltage technician or mechanic-level electrician.
  • Ability to bend conduit and install it neatly and accurately.
  • Experience pulling wire, making terminations, and troubleshooting low voltage systems.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Prior construction, mechanical, or outdoor work experience.
  • Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
  • Comfort working within secure or regulated facilities with badging requirements.

Work Environment

The role is based in a secure industrial facility, accessed via a shuttle from a designated parking lot each morning. Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a requirement to arrive at the parking lot by 6:30 a.m. to catch the shuttle. Overtime is mandatory, and some Saturdays and Sundays are part of the regular schedule. The work takes place in both indoor and outdoor settings, often in hot or varying weather conditions and at heights. The environment is physically demanding and construction-oriented, with frequent use of basic hand tools, power tools, conduit, and low voltage installation equipment. Personal protective equipment is required at all times, including a hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, gloves, and work boots; all PPE except boots is provided. Team members receive two 15-minute breaks that may be combined into a 30-minute lunch, supporting a structured and consistent daily routine.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
