Job Description

Job Description: Responsible for mowing, edging, weeding, debris removal, and general cleanliness and appearance of exterior areas. Responsibilities and duties of this position include but are not limited to:

• Operate gas powered mowing equipment to cut grass to a height of 2 to 3 inches to present a uniform appearance.
• Operates gas/electric powered Weed eating equipment.
• Operates gas/electric powered Edging equipment.
• Spread grass mulch clippings evenly to present a neat appearance.
• Remove and dispose of trash and debris from the grounds.
• Fill holes, ruts, and depressions with dirt to present a neat and even uniform appearance.
• Spread granulated fertilizer at prescribed seasonal periods.
• Perform basic equipment operation and safety checks.
• Promote a positive relationship with the onsite customer.
• Work quickly to complete assigned work in a specified period of time.
• Other duties as assigned.

This job has different activities during different seasons and at times you may be assigned duties which have not been clearly stated.

• Pulling weeds
• Sweeping paved areas.
• Raking debris
• Bagging trash and other debris
• Safely replenish gas tanks on gas powered equipment
• Safely install cutting line to gas powered weeding equipment

Must be able to:

• Bend, stoop, lift and push, twist, turn and be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Pass a background check
• Work independently and with limited supervision. Most work will be performed alone.
• Work in a seasonable environment ranging from severe heat and humidity in the summer, to cold temperatures during winter months.
• Must be 21 years of age with a clean driving record going back 3 years.

• Be and Think Safe. MCRC can be a very dangerous place to work if you are not paying attention to what is going on around you. Additionally, the duties you perform can be hazardous.

• If for any reason, you do not complete any duty from your daily work schedule, you shall immediately notify your supervisor.
