Fleet Maintenance Supervisor (Direct Hire) Location: San Francisco, CA
Shift: Monday – Friday, Swing Shift (12:00 PM – 9:00 PM)

The Opportunity Randstad is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor for a permanent, direct-hire placement with a premier leader in environmental services and resource recovery. In this role, you will lead the shop operations for a diverse and heavy-duty fleet, including collection trucks, specialized vehicles, and industrial equipment.

What You Bring to the Table
- Leadership Background: Solid experience in a supervisory role, with specific expertise managing union personnel.
- Technical Knowledge: An understanding of fleet maintenance operations, shop safety, and resource planning.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Licensing: * Valid Driver’s License (Required).
- Must possess (or be able to obtain within 6 months) a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with no air brake or automatic transmission restrictions.
- Availability: Ability to work the 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM shift and respond to fleet emergencies if they arise.

Responsibilities
- Monitors workflow, adjusts schedules, and assigns employees as appropriate to rebalance workload when necessary to minimize downtime.
- Supports the Equipment Maintenance Manager in ensuring all facets of the maintenance operations are met.
- Ensures that maintenance personnel adhere to established policies for inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment in addition to ensuring all company policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreement (as applicable) are followed.
- Assists with purchasing of parts, supplies, tools, and machinery, as required, in support of the maintenance operation.
- Assists with recordkeeping tasks related to service, repair, parts, inventory, vehicles, and equipment activities (Drivers Vehicle Inspection Reports, Equipment Condition Reports, etc.).
- Conducts periodic inspections and audits of facilities and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, effective, and compliant maintenance operations. Identifies potential safety hazards and takes appropriate action to ensure personnel safety. Investigates and evaluates cause and extent of damage to equipment failures and vehicles involved in accidents. Maintains communications between mechanic team and operations.
- Must be able to work any assigned shift and respond to equipment emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
