Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting team for a dynamic construction company based in Downtown Orlando. This hands-on leadership role ensures financial accuracy, project profitability, and compliance in a fast-paced construction environment. The ideal candidate brings construction industry expertise, excels at job costing, project billing, and financial reporting, and partners with project managers and executives to drive profitability and growth.
salary: $140,000 - $175,000 per year

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities
- Oversee accounting operations including job costing, project billing, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly financial close.
• Prepare detailed financial statements, project profitability reports, and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and lien/retainage processes for construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, construction-specific regulations, and bonding requirements.
• Support pre-construction estimating, change order tracking, and contract compliance.
• Lead audits, tax filings, and subcontractor payment certifications.
• Analyze project margins and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Supervise accounting staff and implement construction-focused financial systems.
