Job Description

Anderson Center for Autism is seeking a dedicated Behavior Specialist to support adults with autism and developmental disabilities across community‑based residential and day program settings. In this role, you will assist with behavioral and skill‑based assessments, support the development and implementation of behavior support plans, collect and analyze data, and provide training and guidance to direct support staff. Your work helps promote independence, safety, and meaningful quality‑of‑life outcomes for the adults we serve.

Pay Range: $56,680.00 - $61,880.00 Annual Salary; Based on experience. 

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with annual and ongoing behavioral and skills assessments using evidence‑based methods to gather reliable data.
  • Participate in the development of behavior support and skills‑based plans by contributing data, observations, and feedback from program settings.
  • Support plan implementation through modeling, observation, and providing feedback to direct support staff; document trainings as required.
  • Maintain accurate data‑collection systems; chart or graph data and share results with team members to guide program adjustments.
  • Provide program‑level behavioral support by observing environments, identifying needs, and communicating recommendations to supervisors and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Participate in treatment team, LifePlan, BTR, and other relevant meetings, offering meaningful input aligned with behavior support goals.
  • Assist in crisis prevention and intervention using proactive, least‑restrictive strategies; support crisis response when needed.
  • Maintain strong communication with residential and day program staff, families, and department peers to ensure shared understanding of supports.
  • Complete required documentation, reports, and summaries in accordance with agency standards and timelines.
  • Participate in agency training initiatives and stay current with best practices related to autism and behavior support.
Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
  • Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, preferably in a residential or community-based setting.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and training skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, write clear reports, and implement evidence-based interventions.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between residential sites as needed.
